The Missaukee County Sheriff’s Office currently employs 9 full-time Uniformed Law Enforcement Officers with 1 Road Sergeant, 1 Detective, 1 Marine/ORV/Snowmobile Safety Officer, 1 undercover Narcotics Detective, and several part-time law enforcement officers.

The 9 full-time Uniformed Law Enforcement Officers and 1 Road Sergeant respond to original calls for police services whether they are emergency or non-emergency. Those calls can be of a criminal nature, traffic related, citizen assists and/or any number of miscellaneous requests for assistance including medical responses. These Officers are responsible for taking complaints, investigating these complaints, and seeing the case through to court proceedings if necessary. Other essential job duties and responsibilities of the Uniformed Division include:

  • Traffic patrol to observe traffic violations and issue warnings and citations
  • Transport and/or escort inmates between courtrooms, prison, and medical facilities
  • Serve subpoenas, summonses, and all other Civil Process
  • Maintain order and security in the courtroom during jury trials
  • Locate and take persons into custody on arrest warrants
  • Testify in court to present evidence by describing conditions, situations, and actions
  • Ensure and promote the safety and security of all citizens

 All members of the Uniformed Law Enforcement Division are Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) Certified.
