Request for Public Records

The Records Department of the Missaukee County Sheriff's Office is open Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays.  A request form can be obtained through this website, the Records Office, or from Central Dispatch.

If you would like a copy of an incident report or related documents, please complete a Request for Public Records form.   You may also submit a written letter to the Sheriff's Office detailing the records and/or specific information or documents you are requesting along with all known pertinent information to assist in the location of those records.   The status of any investigation may determine when a report is available.

Please provide the address where the records are to be sent.  Written requests will be responded to within 5 working days or sooner depending on the scope and nature of the request and staff availability as per state law.

Fees and costs will be determined according to state FOIA laws.  These are determined by actual time spent in retrieving, separation of exempt and non-exempt information, copying, and mailing.   An estimate of charges will be given if requested before requests are fulfilled.
